This an exciting opportunity for a Level 2/Level 3 qualified Swim Coach who would like to join our experienced coaching team, as our Head Coach.

Based in Dorking, Surrey, we are a family friendly performance club, whom strive to provide opportunities for all our swimmers to achieve their own personal goals, this is driven by their love of swimming and desire to achieve.  As a club we have a proactive and supportive committee, assisted by a strong team of coaches and volunteers as well as many technical officials. We are a Swim Mark accredited club with around 250 swimmers and we are looking to grow our membership. Our swimmers span from Learning to swim, competitive development, county, regional, national levels and masters.

We are looking for a Coach with inspiration, drive and enthusiasm to continue growing and developing our club.  The Head Coach would be responsible for delivering a coaching programme, that inspires and motivates our swimmers to reach their full potential.  The role would suit a Level 2 coach, working towards a level 3 coach qualification, allowing themselves to develop alongside our club.  This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their current role.

Working with the support of our current dedicated coaching team, your role would include coaching our performance, excel and other senior squads, working closely with our current coaches/volunteers in producing a varied and competitive coaching schedule to support all our swimmers. The successful candidate would be expected to work across four swimming pools in Dorking and the surrounding areas.  The role is part time, 15 – 20 hours per week (flexible).

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold an ASA level 2 Coaching Qualification with the view to gain the Level 3 Coaching qualification.
  • Have a high technical understanding to design and produce detailed swim sessions for specific squads and be able to run Land Training if required.
  • Be willing to keep updated with modern swimming techniques and share them with this knowledge with coaching team.
  • Need to be able to demonstrate a strong ability to coach, motivate and develop the swimmer’s technique.
  • Being able to continue growing the relationships between the coaches, swimmers, parents, committee and other volunteers.
  • Being willing to discuss the individual and squad performance with parents, coaches and the Clubs committee.
  • Have the Leadership and Communication skills to be able to foster and grow the Coaching team, with goal setting to ensure that the swimmers reach their full potential.
  • To attend appropriate competitions and swim camps
  • Will need to be reliable, punctual with excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent administrative skills and computer literacy to compliment the role.

 

Qualifications and other requirements:

  • Hold a ASA level 2 Swimming Coach certificate
  • Child safeguarding certificate from Swim England approved training provider
